Custom Handcrafted Kitchen

This client wanted to redesign their Windsor, England kitchen to preserve traditional accouterments. They wanted a Custom Handcrafted Kitchen for their 5-bedroom home that is easy to use and fun for entertaining. They were keen for one that was well-lit and brought in a bold blue to remind them of home back in the USA. Lastly, as avid bakers, they wanted to enable their passion.

Baruchi aimed to dial up the family’s preference of traditional style while respecting design provenance. We pushed the envelope on the classic shaker kitchen. Our goal was to emphasize how this Custom Handcrafted Kitchen would frame the space. And we needed it to look elegant, practical, and very functional. To do this, we deployed an exciting mix of materials. This included a classic satin-washed cerulean blue for color, enjoyable semi-polished copper cup handles for hardware, and traditional faucets.

We didn’t want the room to have too many wall units. This would visually weigh the room down. So, we utilized lots of open shelves to lighten up the architecture of the space. And we added a bold yet visually proportionally clean triad corbel bridge to dress up the extractor aspect. This accentuated the area in a rather unexpected way. But this simple detail framed the island as an anchor in the space. We then incorporated intelligent organizational options by designing a butler’s pantry. We brought in an efficient coffee station with racking for dried foods and oils. And lastly, a contrasting assortment of integrated drawers with the same palette carried over to the cross-racking for wine bottles.

Project feature

As avid bakers, the family of five needed ample larder and storage space. The first pantry was for baking supplies, spices, condiments, and more. And the second larder provided a breakfast corner storage for teas, cereals, and mugs.
