THE BRIEF
This older couple wanted Baruchi to design a Luxury Contemporary Kitchen for them to enjoy. It needed to make life easier and prep faster. They wanted American appliances and a sophisticated color palette.
THE DESIGN
We wanted to create a wholesome and enjoyable space that is ergonomically designed for later life. We started with the sink and stove. These were placed in the island of their Luxury Contemporary Kitchen. That meant when they were cooking, they could focus on social time too. The hob was recessed and we used a reduced-depth extractor hood too. We needed to keep the space as open as possible.
Keeping prep simple is important too. So, we put an integrated bin into the island. Now they can sweep scraps right into the trash after chopping, peeling or slicing. We placed the ovens higher in the design to make them easier to use with reduced mobility. And this also reduces the chance of burning. Lastly, we installed an American fridge freezer with easy-access doors and loads of food storage for entertaining the family.

KEEPING IT SOCIAL
We opened up the space and kept the conversation going by putting the sink and stove in their island. This means food prep can continue while socializing is happening.
ISLAND SEATING AREA
We designed the island so it is accessible for children and grown-ups alike. And the Corian countertop provides the couple with an easy to clean, clutterless surface material.
