THE BRIEF
The client wanted a light kitchen with a granite worktop. The client and their family are keen cooks and wanted a large gas hob. So, we designed a professional granite kitchen for them.
THE DESIGN
Having lived in their home for over 5 years, the client embarked on a whole kitchen remodeling project in this Edwardian home in London.
The designer wanted to provide an easy transition to the main kitchen. She used off-white matt tall units. So, we combined them with a beautiful slab of granite called “Royal ballet granite” – personally chosen by the client. To fully capture the beauty of the granite, we used a large piece of granite behind the hob as well.
First, this granite brings warmth to the kitchen, adding a natural element into the mix of materials. As a keen cook, we specified an Italian under-mounted stainless steel hob. Finally, we lit under the wall units to highlight the beauty of the materials and draw focus on the preparation area.
THE INSPIRATION
THE FINAL OUTCOME
EXTRA WIDE DRAWERS – 3’11”
The client really needed room to store a vast array of cooking materials. So, we opted for extra-large drawers. Overall, this provided a pleasing way to maximize storage.
SPLASHBACK DRAMA
Since the worktop granite was so beautiful, we repeated the finish for this professional granite kitchen. That added drama and interest to the space.
