THE BRIEF
The clients wanted a sociable and open kitchen for their home in Wimbledon. The client was an architect who wanted to make a kitchen that would make a design statement. And they wished to have a grey kitchen, so we combined these elements into a Statement Grey Kitchen design.
THE DESIGN
The design concept combined influences from the couple’s routines, tastes, and requirements. As a family they wanted an inviting, open-plan kitchen to provide some seating.
We found textured dark cabinetry and located a granite with the same texture as the cabinetry. To ensure the space was minimal and sophisticated, we used the same granite as the splashback. We also sourced a black tap and sink to match the rest of the countertop. The design specified all Siemens appliances to include a leaner gas hob and Siemens oven. Next, it included an integrated Siemens steamer and a warming drawer to keep the food in during cooking. So, as to maintain the strong bold structure of the island, we designed an extension of the island with seating for four.
To keep to the color palette- we included pendant lighting and accessories around the kitchen. The kitchen takes center stage at the heart of the home, standing as its own transitional design feature whilst completing the interior scheme throughout the property. The kitchen design personifies European elegance, refinement, and design flair resulting in a beautiful, luxurious yet functional environment in which the couple can entertain and cook.

THE FINAL OUTCOME

RELAXED SEATING
First, we didn’t want to lose the heart of a kitchen’s purpose – togetherness. So we combined relaxed seating with the other Statement Grey Kitchen elements for a homogenous design.

INTEGRATED TEPPANYAKI
Next, we wanted to make cooking easy. And one way to do that – and wow guests – is with a teppanyaki grill. It makes preparing all kinds of hot food a breeze.
